Private tutor in Newtown, PA
Education
The University of Oxford - M.A., Chemistry , The University of Oxford - Ph. D., Organic Chemistry
Experience
I attended the University of Oxford, where I graduated with a bachelor's and Ph.D. in Chemistry. Upon graduating, I worked in pharmaceuticals as a medicinal chemist, where I acted as a supervisor over a number of graduate chemists.I love learning about organic chemistry. I find it fascinating how the slightest change in a solvent can dramatically change an outcome or reaction. I love how chemistry pushes one to think outside of the box, where people are encouraged to explore new and creative methods. As a teacher, I push my students to be creative in their approach to a solution. It is my goal to share my thirst for knowledge, along with the ability to think critically, with my students.I live in Newtown, Pennsylvania, and tutor students in a number of subjects, such as organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, general science, writing, and English. Along with chemistry, I have a general knowledge in geography, art, literature, history, current affairs, and music. When I am not in working in a chemistry lab, I like to carve wood and tend to my English style garden. I also work as a steward at my church. In my spare time, I like to participate in colonial era reenactments.
